Tuition Assistance

The Waldorf School of St. Louis is dedicated to economic diversity. Approximately 50% of WSSL families receive tuition assistance. In addition to the tuition assistance application, our process includes personal meetings with each family to understand each situation better. We work with our families to do our best to make Waldorf education available to those seeking it while maintaining healthy school finances.

Families can apply for tuition assistance online through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. A $30 FACTS processing fee applies. The following documents will be uploaded:

  • previous 2 year's Federal tax returns, W2s and/or 1099s (as applicable) for applicant and co-applicants

Direct questions regarding the Tuition Assistance Application Process to FACTS directly at 866-441-4637. Note: a completed admissions application (directions found above) must be submitted before the tuition assistance application.

Tuition Assistance Policies

  1. Applicants may request an additional review of their tuition assistance by contacting the WSSL Business Coordinator.

  2. All tuition assistance awards are based on monetary need.

  3. Families MUST reapply for tuition assistance each year with current financial and family information. Any assistance awarded applies only to the current academic year.

  4. The deposit is not included in tuition assistance and must be paid in full.

  5. Awards will be contingent upon having no existing outstanding balances due to The Waldorf School of St. Louis for tuition, fees, or other programs and credible payment history.

  6. Custodial parents wishing to have only one income considered in support of their child must have a tax filing status other than "married" or "married filing separately.”

  7. All information submitted to the Finance Committee will remain confidential, and your related tax records will be destroyed after review.

  8. The Finance Committee tries to accommodate all requests within the budget the Board of Trustees allotted.

  9. The Waldorf School of St. Louis values diversity among its students and parent body. All applications are reviewed without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, ethnicity, national origin, or sexual orientation.

  10. Important note regarding divorced, separated, or never-married parents: It is the School’s position that both parents retain the obligation to contribute to the education of their child(ren), whether or not there is a legal agreement between them to do so. Therefore, the School considers the financial situation of both parents and requires that each complete and submit a Financial Aid Application, along with the appropriate tax forms and schedules.

NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATORY POLICY: the Waldorf School of St. Louis admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policy, scholarships, and loans.
