Lead Early Childhood Teacher

Through play, singing, movement, handwork, arts, storytelling, puppetry, and more you not only enrich the children’s social-emotional life but also provide a strong foundation for academics.
The Waldorf School of St. Louis is looking for a Full Time Lead Early Childhood Teachers to join our faculty for the 2025-26 school year.
Responsibilities:
Preparing daily/weekly/yearly lesson plans in the light of Waldorf pedagogy and classroom expectations, including circle work, indoor/outdoor free play, snack preparation, storytelling, handwork, festival preparation, and artistic activities
Assessing the evolving needs of the children in the class through daily/weekly record keeping and child observation
Maintaining a healthy and orderly classroom environment
Forming and maintaining a healthy social life in their class
Planning and conducting parent meetings
Providing student observations of student individual needs through parent-teacher conferences
Actively participating in the enrollment process for new families
Maintaining timely and professional communication with the parents regarding their child(ren)
Participating in ongoing Professional Development Planning process
Continuing self-professional development through reading, conferences, and workshops to continually deepen the understanding of Waldorf pedagogy and child development
Participating in school festivals, assemblies, and celebrations
The teacher will be responsible for providing a Waldorf Early Childhood education to our students in a mixed-age class. This position requires a deep understanding of Waldorf early childhood pedagogy as well as the ability to:
bring Waldorf curriculum to meet the needs of each child as well as the whole class
assess the evolving needs of the children in the class through observation and record keeping, including first grade readiness assessments
work well with the parents, provide parent education on Waldorf education and create a healthy class community
Commitment to self-development and have a growing relationship with Anthroposophy
serve the school through committee work, administrative responsibilities and work collaboratively with faculty, administration, and other school realms
Qualifications:
Completed (or in the process of completing) Bachelor’s Degree
Waldorf EC Teacher Training certificate or in the process of working towards completion of the Waldorf EC Teacher Training
Experience working with children between the ages of 0 to 7
Commitment to continued training and education in the realm of Waldorf Education
Willingness to renew traditional Waldorf curriculum through DEIJ perspective and consciousness.
Positive and effective communication skills
Ability to work supportively and in collaboration with colleagues
